The Gulf Islands are full of innovative houses. Instead of building a custom home, these homeowners had an idea for a quicker and more sustainable option. They purchased a house that was then moved to Salt Spring Island by land and by sea. After pouring the foundations for the home, structural upgrades were required to modernize and future-proof the house: new mechanical systems and an exterior building envelope that included full-dimensioned timbers, siding, stucco, soffits, waterproofing and roofing systems.
